Dara Kaneko Woo (Dare-ah) is a SAG-AFTRA actor and model based in New York City.

Most recently, she appeared on Broadway in Take a Banana for the Ride (Nederlander Theatre), written and performed by Emmy-nominated Jeff Ross, directed by Academy Award nominee Stephen Kessler — filmed as a Netflix special.

Previously, she starred in The Picture of Dorian Gray (Music Box Theatre) which was nominated for 6 Tony awards, directed by Tony-nominated Kip Williams and starring Tony & Emmy winner Sarah Snook.

Background

Dara's connection to Judo runs deep — her jichan (grandfather) trained in Judo while incarcerated in a Japanese American internment camp during World War II. She was introduced to the sport at age 7 and quickly grew to love it. By high school she was competing at the national level, ranking 5th in the U.S. from 2013–2015. She holds a black belt in Judo and a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and continues to train several times a week.
